Description:

Two-day training focusing on interventional and educational strategies for students with unique communication needs with an emphasis on Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Auditory Verbal Therapy, American Sign Language Interpreting, Genetics of Hearing Loss, Cochlear Implants, Assistive Technology for Visual Impairment, Early Intervention, and Developing Communication Plans for Individualized Education Plans.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Improving services for students who need educational interpreters
  2. Improving services for students at the preschool level who have cochlear implants
  3. Improving services to students who need to use Braille to access the general curriculum
  4. Improving services for students who have complex communication needs and often enter/exit school without a formal communication system

CEUs

This activity is offered for up to 0.9 CEUs (8.5 hours of instruction). To register for CEUs:
