AAC 101: An Overview of Dedicated Speech Generating Devices, Device Trialing Process, and Device Funding

Description:

This 60-minute course is intended to be a demonstration of a variety of AAC devices, and discussion about the device trialing process and general funded process.  The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Wego 5A-D, 7A-D, 10A-D, and 13A-D; and the Zuvo 10-D, Zuvo 12-D and Zuvo 16-D speech generating devices (SGD).  This session will continue on to cover the different types of device trials and general device funding.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will demonstrate an understanding on use of at least 3 devices by hardware.

Participants will identify 3 different types of device trials

Participants will demonstrate knowledge on basic funding requirements.
