Supporting Communication, Language, and Academic Needs with Grid

Description:
This 2 hour course is intended to be a discussion around supporting language, communication, and academic learning needs within Grid software. We will explore different vocabulary options and the ways they support language, literacy, and learning development for communication needs. We will also look at grid sets that support academic needs – ranging from AAC tools with embedded and customizable curriculum supports to scheduling and regulation supports. We will discuss how these options are available on a variety of fundable speech generating devices with time to explore each tool hands-on.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will describe at least 3 ways Grid supports academic, language, and communication needs.
Participants will identify at least 3 grid sets that match their students’ needs.
Participants will locate where to add relevant grid sets in Grid.
