Making Virtual Learning Accessible: Strategies for a Successful Online Learning Environment

Join the team at the Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation (CIDI) and Tools for Life (TFL) to explore best practices and strategies for ensuring educational materials remain accessible. Especially as we navigate obstacles to online learning. In this session, you will learn how to utilize your operating systems built in accessibility features that are already at your fingertips. Presenters will also share information about braille, e-text, captioning, audio description, assistive technology and other services offered by CIDI that can benefit students in the in-person or virtual educational environment. Ensuring students are still receiving accessible materials is our priority and we hope you join us to explore these solutions together!

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will be able to identify two (2) obstacles educators are facing in the recent online learning environment.
Participants will be able to list three (3) built-in accessibility features in their current operating system.
Participants will be able to name four (4) resources in Georgia for ensuring online educational materials are accessible.
