Literacy Skills for Students who are Deafblind

Description:
Students who are Deafblind require very specific interventions when it comes to pre-literacy ad literacy skills. It is important that teachers and paraprofessionals who work with students with combined vision and hearing loss have access to information on how to teach pre-literacy and literacy skills to their complex students.

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of the presentation, participants will be able to identify what strategies will best help their student to engage in a comprehensive literacy curriculum.
As a result of the presentation participants will be able to plan a program for their students that involves daily literacy activities including reading and writing.
