Two-day training focusing on interventional and educational strategies for students with unique communication needs with an emphasis on Mild and Unilateral Hearing Loss, Augmentative and Alternative Communication with Tactile Symbols, Assistive Technology for Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment, Orientation & Mobility for the Visually Impaired, Pro-tactile and Tactile Interpreting for the Deafblind, Face-to-Face Communication with the Deafblind, American Sign Language Interpreting, Genetics of Hearing Loss, Early Intervention, Self-Care for Professionals, Diversity Sensitivity, and Professional Ethics.

Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will understand the interdisciplinary coordination necessary for effective communication for students with unique communication needs secondary to sensory loss.
- Participants will understand the professional self-care and ethics of professional procedure when working with students with unique communication needs secondary to sensory loss.
- Participants will understand the importance of student access to low-tech, no-tech, and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication systems and assistive technology.
- Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the importance of collaboration embodied by the words of Helen Keller “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”.
