AAC Options: How do I choose the right high-tech device for my student?

Description:

This 90 minute course is intended to be a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC devices and access methods. The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Wego 5A, 7A, 10A, & 13A, the WegoWrite, and the Zuvo10, 12, and 16 speech-generating devices (SGD) with eyespeak cameras.  This session will cover a variety of vocabulary files and alternative access methods available.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will demonstrate an understanding of use of at least 2 devices by hardware and individual client goals.

Participants will identify 2 access methods compatible with each device and demonstrate knowledge of basic programming and customization on one vocabulary program.

Describe considerations of the feature-matching process to identify the most appropriate AAC system
