AAC Intervention: An Overview of Dedicated Speech Generating Devices, Access Methods and Page Sets

Description:

This 120 minute course is intended to be a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC devices and access methods. The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Wego 5A, 7A, 10A, 13A and Zuvo 10,12 speech generating devices (SGD).  This session will continue on to cover a variety of vocabulary files specific to case studies introduced.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will demonstrate an understanding on use of at least 3 devices by hardware.

Participants will demonstrate understanding on who is appropriate for AAC and various considerations that will assist in the decision making process of determining which device would be most beneficial to the client.

Participants will demonstrate knowledge on basic programming, customizing, and vocabulary sets of at least 3 devices.
