Work ACCESS: An Update on our Assessment Tool Development

Date/Location:

June 30, 2021, Virtual

Description:

Join us for an update on Work ACCESS, a new resource that the Center for Inclusive Design & Innovation (CIDI) is developing to help people make informed choices about selecting workplace accommodations. The tool asks users questions about the employee’s abilities and work tasks, and makes suggestions for different types of products, strategies, or policy changes that might help.  The presentation will provide an update on our development of the tool, including our crowd sourcing activities and the development of a prototype website/app. Learn about our next phase of development: usability and field testing and how you can contribute to the development of the tool.

Speakers:

Karen Milchus, M.S.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will be able to identify three (3) things that make Work ACCESS unique compared to other accommodation tools.

Participants will be able to describe three (3) scenarios in which Work ACCESS might be used.

Participants will be able to define “crowd sourcing” and provide two (2) examples of hot it has been used in the development of Work ACCESS.
