Technology Leadership in Practice: Past, Present, and Future

Date/Location:

May 20, 2021

Description:

The COVID-19 crisis and subsequent shift to emergency virtual and remote learning was the ultimate “stress test” for many district’s technology infrastructure and leadership practices. The continued uncertainty and shifting recommendations have demanded districts leverage technology in more effective ways.  One need that became abundantly clear was that district leaders and educators need to understand how to utilize assistive technology and accessible educational materials and technologies so learning in a remote environment could be effective for all students.  It has always been important for technology leadership to have knowledge and expertise about technology supports for students with disabilities, but the crisis has demonstrated why creating integrated and inclusive technology systems is so vital.
