Managing Caseloads while Engaging Students in a Multi District Caseload

When working in multiple schools and multiple districts by each of our therapists, we want to provide a range of strategies and supports that will allow for effective, efficient, supportive therapy for all our schools and students by our PT’s and OT’s. This series will give them support in time management, productivity, testing, assistive technology, medical safety and strategies for treatment engagement.

Learning Outcomes:

Discuss the parameters for discharge from school based PT and OT and the continuum of support for families, students and classroom staff.

Discuss strategies that related service providers can use to increase their working knowledge of AT tools and extensions for written performance.

Discuss enhancement of school based evaluations with use of GMFCS and GMFM 88 and GMFM 66.

Increase working knowledge of Paddy Muir Valve and safety with treatments in schools for students who use one.

Increase working use of productivity tools and technology for support of the therapist in working with caseloads that include multiple districts, multiple billing platforms and high numbers of students.

Hands on support of tools that can be used without cost to increase engagement during shorter school sessions or push in supports.
