Internet of Things

Description:

Full day training taught by ESC AT specialists to education about the basics of the Internet of Things (IoT). Training regarding how the Internet of Things can increase the independence of individuals with visual, physical, cognitive and learning disabilities. Professionals working with people with disabilities need to know what type of assistive technology is available to assist people in improving their ability to work, live independently, or improve their quality of life.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will be able to identify at least 3 uses for Intelligent Personal Assistants (Google Home, Amazon      Echo, Apple HomePod).
  2. Participants will be able to demonstrate how to create a skill or routine within the Amazon Alexa App.
  3. Participants will be able to name at least 3 health related IoT devices.
  4. Participants will be able to name at least 3 commercial products that provide access to the user’s environment. 

CEUs

This activity is offered for up to 0.6 CEUs (5.5 hours of instruction). To register for CEUs:
