This self-study course provides an introductory overview of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The course is designed for beginners, but also can serve as a review for more experienced professionals. Instructors may find the course can supplement lectures on the basics of AAC and students will have a certificate to document completion of the course. The depth of the topic presented here should be sufficient to gain an appreciation for the essential elements of AAC.
