Augmentative & Alternative Communication Devices: Technology To Support Successful Communication

Description:
This 3.5-hour course is intended to be a demonstration of the Super Core, Voco Chat, and Grid for Schools grid sets within Grid 3 and Grid for iPad. The session will include key features of each grid set as well discussion about different populations that might benefit from each. The session will also include a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC devices and access methods. The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Zuvo 12, Wego Family, and Grid Pad Family speech-generating devices (SGD). This session will continue on to cover a variety of vocabulary files specific to case studies introduced.

Learning Outcomes:
Learners will be able to compare one key difference between SuperCore and VocoChat.
Learners will be able to identify 3 grid sets that can be used for Grid for Schools
Participants will demonstrate an understanding on use of at least 3 devices by hardware.
Participants will identify 3 unique features of each device.
Participants will demonstrate knowledge on basic programming, customizing and vocabulary files of at least 3 devices
