Augmentative & Alternative Communication Devices: Technology To Support Successful Communication

Description:

This 60-minute course is intended to be a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC devices and access methods. The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Wego Family and Grid Pad Family speech-generating devices (SGD). This session will continue on to cover a variety of vocabulary files specific to case studies introduced.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will demonstrate an understanding on use of at least 3 devices by hardware.

Participants will identify 3 unique features of each device.

Participants will demonstrate knowledge on basic programming, customizing and vocabulary files of at least 3 devices.
