Augmentative & Alternative Communication: An Overview of AAC Implementation Simplified

Description:
This 60 minute course is intended to be a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC devices and access methods. The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Wego 5A-D, 7A-D, 10A-D, & 13A-D; and the Zuvo 10, Zuvo 12-D, Zuvo 16-D, and Zuvo Eyespeak speech generating devices (SGD). This session will continue on to cover a variety of vocabulary files specific to case studies introduced and discussion of research and best practices in implementing AAC.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will demonstrate an understanding on use of at least 3 devices by hardware.
Participants will identify 3 unique features of each device.
Participants will demonstrate knowledge on basic programming, customizing and vocabulary files of at least 3 devices.
