Adaptive Toy Training Workshop
Date/Location:
July 17th – 18th, 2025, Milwaukee, WI
Description:
The Adaptive Toy Training Workshop is a two-day, in-person session for professionals who would like to learn more about creating adaptive toys, using adaptive toys in therapy sessions, and how to launch a program to share them with families and therapists in their communities. This training is modeled after the success of Inclusive Play: Toys for All, a collaboration that modifies off-the-shelf toys into switch adapted toys with the goal of creating more affordable, therapeutically interesting adaptive toys for children experiencing developmental delays. Participants will gain hands-on technical experience in the electrical modifications and hand tool skills required to modify switch adapted toys. Participants will explore uses for adaptive toys in therapy sessions.
