AAC Simplified: An Overview of Speech Generating Devices

Description:

This 120 minute course is intended to be a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC devices and access methods. The session involves a demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of several devices including the Wego line of speech generating devices (SGD) and the Zuvo line of SGDs with eyespeak cameras.  This session will cover a variety of vocabulary files and alternative access methods available.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will demonstrate an understanding of use of at least 3 devices by hardware and individual client goals.

Participants will identify 2 access methods compatible with each device.

Participants will demonstrate knowledge on basic programming and customization of at least 3 vocabulary programs.
