AAC: An Overview of Evaluations and Funding

Description:

This 60-minute course is intended to be a content driven discussion regarding the AAC evaluation process and funding in the state of Wisconsin.  Information regarding the components of an evaluation and feature matching specifically with Talk to Me Technologies devices will be shared.  In addition, there will be a brief overview of the funding process and requirements including Wisconsin Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the AAC evaluation process.

Participants will identify at least 3 components for feature matching.

Participants will gain knowledge regarding various methods for accessing speech generating devices.

Participant will demonstrate an understanding of various funding options for a speech generating device in the state of Wisconsin.
