AAC Intervention: An Overview of Speech Generating Devices, Feature Matching and the Funding Process

Description:
This 60-minute course is intended to be a demonstration and discussion of a variety of AAC communication software and vocabulary files available on the Wego and Zuvo devices and their different functions for various AAC users. This session will continue to a group discussion of the assessment processes, i.e., feature matching, requesting a trial device, and completing a coverage check. Explicit review of TTMT paperwork will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will identify 3 grid sets that are present in Grid.
Participants will identify 3 alternative access methods supported by Grid.
Participants will demonstrate knowledge on how to request a complimentary trial SGD from TTMT.
Participants will demonstrate awareness of the TTMT/Smartbox educational resources available for assessment and implementation support, e.g., Smartbox Academy, Free evaluator license, SIMPLE AAC frame work, and the Smartbox Hub.
